Erbs palsy is a result of an injury at ‘Erb’s point’ which is where the fifth and sixth cranial nerves merge. It is a type of brachial plexus injury which can happen during a difficult birth where a baby can become stuck in the birth canal. Erbs palsy causes weakness in the baby’s arm which results in loss of movement.
